The target for this trip was at Mano Wreck. Supposedly, we should be leaving Punggol Marina at 7pm, but then, as usual, Derek and a couple of his friends made an entrance only at almost 8pm . Naturally, tai-chi here and there......as usual!
Weather was alright, wind average, and reached there about 1.5hrs later, and baits are dropped.
In spite of moving to different parts of the wreck, all was quiet! Were our 3" squids on 5/0 hooks too small to be noticed? Or all the Gaos went to Sentosa for the Zouk out!
Live squids were unavailable so depended on the frozen ones, well, if it's yours, it's yours!
The current and cross wind was driving us crazy, having lost 6 rigs myself and several from the others, still no take at 2am....
Finally we moved off to another spot nearer to Changi....after changing a couple of spots, the first landing....a 500gms+ Fingermark in my bucket!!! ...Alright!!!! is this the Snapper city? Small snappers goes in schools righht?
...............20mins down, everything was still quiet! Sianz...it was a fluke! Ricky manoeuvred the boat back into the first position again, after 10mins, a grouper of 1.5kg came into my bucket again! Ok..we know gaos often go in pairs.... morale was lifted again.....can be anything Snapper or Gao! .......another came onto my line......a nice Moray eel! With the leader cut off and retied...that 3 of us who stayed mostly awake are still waiting for the BITE! The Sinkers came out warm, the water down there is not cold,...where could they be.......probably still drunk at the Zouk out....perhaps we could have scored better going after those drunkard fishes at Sentosa?
At 6.30am???....all was still quiet and we had called it a day.
Sorry folks....no pics........to embarrasing to post!
